William “Bill” L. Exeter serves as Chief Executive Officer for Exeter Trust Company and Exeter 1031 Exchange Services, LLC.
Bill Exeter has been in the financial services industry since 1980. He began specializing in real estate tax strategies in 1985 with a specialty emphasis in 1031 exchanges, 1033 exchanges, self-directed IRAs and individual 401(k) plans, title holding trusts (land trusts), specialty holding escrows and custody accounts, with an emphasis in non-traditional assets or alternative investments.
Mr. Exeter has written and lectured extensively on 1031 exchanges, 1033 exchanges, 721 contributions, 121 exclusions, self-directed IRAs and individual 401(k) plans, and title holding trusts or land trusts. Bill serves as an expert consultant and expert witness in legal and regulatory matters.
Bill has administered thousands of self-directed IRAs and individual 401(k) plans, with an emphasis on real estate, deeds of trust, mortgages, private entities, private offerings, and more, and has administered more than 125,000 1031 exchange transactions during his almost 41 year career and is one of the founding members of the 1031 Exchange industry’s trade association, the Federation of Exchange Accommodators.
Exeter Trust Company, Cheyenne, Wyoming, serves as trustee for 1031 exchange qualified trust accounts, as IRA custodian for self-directed IRAs and self-directed individual 401(k) plans with an emphasis in non-traditional investments or alternative investments such a real estate, deeds of trust, mortgages, private loans, private funds, private entities and offerings, as directed custodian for custody accounts, as escrow agent for specialty holding escrows, and trustee for title holding trusts (land trusts).
